A powerful pop-soul gospel anthem of resilience and unity in the face of injustice, Together We Rise is an empowering rallying cry of hope — reminding us that even in the darkest moments, together we rise.
My cowriter Tom Bishel and I originally wrote and recorded Together We Rise inspired by the women's march during the first Trump administration. We were appalled by the attacks on women’s reproductive health care and bodily autonomy, the rollbacks of anti-discrimination policies in workplaces and education, and later, the gutting of protections for violence against women, medicaid, and voting rights, to name a few.
I was delayed in releasing the recording for various reasons (including a hard drive crash, lost files, and other issues), but I always felt the song was special and needed to be shared. I never forgot about it.
During the Summer of 2025 I was able to work with a mix engineer to recreate the lost mix and make a new master. Then, in 2026 when the Epstein files were still not being released as required, and DHS and ICE started violently rounding up neighbors, detaining people, and abusing, injuring, and even killing people who were exercising their first amendment constitutional rights, the song took on even more meaning.
Every time I saw footage of ICE and DHS agents violently pushing protesters and legal observers to the ground, I thought of the lyric, “No matter how hard we may fall, together we rise.” I knew I had to release this song, and quickly, so it could reach the people who need to hear its uplifting message.
So, as of February 13, 2026 Together We Rise was released to all streaming platforms. You can listen to it here on my website: https://patriciabahia.com/music
